A steamy affair

The baskets come in batches.
The people come in droves.
The tables clear by sessions.

Each basket has 16 dumplings.
A basket cost RMB15.
It takes about half a minute to chomp one down.

Lomo-ed

I own a lomo camera now.
Still figuring out how to use it well.
Last week, we took 3 rolls of film (black & white, slide, regular colour film) during our tour of duty at the malls.
Only a handful were decent.
So, I have been reading the manual at night.

This weekend, I will definitely lomo again.

Is Spring really here yet?

Spring is in the air. According to local meteorologists, spring won’t be official until the average temperature remains at or above 10 degrees for five consecutive days.

Last Saturday, the meteorologists finally declared that Spring is finally here. Saturday was the fifth consecutive day where the average temperature was above 10 degrees. Apparently, this is the earliest Spring of the two centuries. The last earliest date of start of Spring was recorded in 1898, on February 14. Normally, spring in Shanghai comes around late March or early April.

We were outdoors on Saturday. It was indeed warm. Young girls were already adorning their miniskirts. For the more conservative, they were still holding on to their cumbersome winter coats.

Just as soon as they announced that spring is here, temperatures fell again on Sunday. It was blistery cold again.

So, Winter is not ready to leave us yet!

Oriental Pearl Tower is a TV tower standing at 1,535 feet (468 m) that looks like spaceship from outerspace.

Visually challenged

You may have noticed some slow-down in my photo submissions. You are right!

I am facing some technical glitches. Hope things would get back to normal really soon.

Meanwhile, enjoy my submissions to Photo Friday in Shutterbee on Friday. Photos taken from my surviving archives.
